Ilorin, Kwara State – In a bid to promote transparency and efficiency in the state’s procurement processes, the Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA) has organized a one-day training session for top civil servants.
The training, which took place at the Kwara State Library, brought together directors, controllers of finance and accounts, planning officers, and procurement officers from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
QS Raheem Abdulbaki, General Manager of KW-PPA, led the training session, emphasizing the importance of identifying needs, evaluating vendors, and awarding contracts in a transparent and fair manner.
Abdulbaki stressed that contractors, suppliers, and service providers must register with the agency and in the appropriate category before bidding for contracts, as mandated by the state’s public procurement laws.
The training initiative is part of the Kwara State Government’s efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in its procurement processes.
According to Mallam Muazu Shaaba, Secretary of the Agency, “This training is designed to equip our civil servants with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure that public resources are utilized effectively and efficiently.”
The participants expressed appreciation for the training, noting that it would enhance their understanding of procurement processes and improve their performance.
This development is a testament to the Kwara State Government’s commitment to good governance and transparency.
