BREAKING: Benue State Assembly Suspends All 23 Local Government Chairmen

The Benue State House of Assembly has declared that all 23 local government chairmen in the state have been suspended indefinitely.

This comes in the wake of allegations of financial irresponsibility leveled against these local government leaders.

This newspaper learned that a specially established ad hoc committee, led by Honorable Peter Ipusu, had been tasked with probing the chairmen’s actions and the claims. The primary purpose of the committee’s investigation was to look into the chairmen’s suspected mismanagement and misuse of public funds.

During a House session on Wednesday, Honorable Peter Ipusu presented a complete report containing the ad hoc committee’s findings and recommendations. This research thoroughly evaluated the local government chairmen’s financial transactions and shed light on any probable acts of financial recklessness or wrongdoing perpetrated by them.

Based on the evidence submitted by Honorable Peter Ipusu, the Benue State House of Assembly ordered the immediate suspension of all 23 local government chairmen, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
