BREAKING: PDP Chairman Kidnap by Gunmen on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Lagos State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Philip Aivoji, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen while travelling on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Thursday evening.

The state publicity secretary of the party, Hon. Hakeem Amode, confirmed the incident and appealed for the swift intervention of the security agencies and the government to rescue him.

Amode said that Aivoji was on his way back from a stakeholders’ meeting in Oyo State, where he met with Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke when he was ambushed by the armed men.

He lamented the rising spate of kidnapping in the country and the failure of the government to tackle the problem.

He said, “We are saddened and outraged by the abduction of our chairman, who is a respected and dedicated leader of our party. This is a clear indication of the breakdown of law and order in our country and the lack of security for the lives and property of Nigerians.

“We urge the governments of Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos States, as well as the federal government and the security agencies, to act swiftly and decisively to rescue our chairman and bring the perpetrators to justice. We also call on the public to join us in praying for his safe return and supporting the efforts to end this scourge of kidnapping in our country.”
