Breaking: Three Kwara Athletes Make Team Nigeria Squad for Canada 2026 Junior Championship

Kwara State has recorded a major breakthrough on the national stage as three of its athletes have been officially selected to represent Nigeria at the 2026 World Junior Squash Championship in Canada.

The athletes earned their spots following impressive performances at the National Camp/Trials organized by the Nigeria Squash Federation, held at the prestigious Ikoyi Club in Lagos between March 16th and 22nd, 2026.

The Kwara representatives who made the final list are Shuaib Giwa in the boys’ category, alongside Misturah Durosinlohun and Khadijah Abdulraheem in the girls’ category. Their selection highlights Kwara’s rising profile as a powerhouse in squash development in Nigeria.

Their success is widely attributed to the deliberate investment in sports by the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. His administration’s commitment to youth development and grassroots sports continues to open doors for young talents to excel on international platforms.

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, has also been praised for his strategic leadership and consistent support for athletes.
