Coach Onigbinde Akinade Bows Out as Doma United Technical Adviser After Three Successful Seasons

Doma United Football Club has confirmed the resignation of its Technical Adviser, Coach Onigbinde Akinade, after three memorable seasons with the Savannah Tigers today.

In a letter addressed to the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Suleman Umar, dated September 2, 2025, Coach Akinade expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the team, describing his time with Doma United as “an honor and a rare privilege.”

“Over the past three seasons, it has been an honor and a rare privilege to serve this great club under your able leadership. I am deeply grateful to you, Alhaji Suleman Umar, for entrusting me with the responsibility of guiding the team. Your support and encouragement throughout my time here have been invaluable,” the statement read.

The tactician also praised his colleagues in the technical crew, the players, and the backroom staff for their commitment and hard work, adding that together they achieved unforgettable milestones.

During his tenure, Coach Onigbinde Akinade left a lasting mark on Doma United with several notable achievements, including:

Winning the NPFL Alan Cup Preseason Tournament (2023/2024)

Lifting the Gombe State FA Cup (2023)

Guiding the club to a remarkable 4th-place finish in the NPFL (2023/2024 season)

Orchestrating a 10-match unbeaten run in the NPFL (2023/2024)

Being named NPFL Coach of the Month twice in 2023

Leading the team to a strong showing at the NNL Super 8 in Asaba (2024/2025)
