Fresh from their outstanding performance at the Cycology Cycling Club 60KM Women’s Criterium Race held at Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, Kwara’s cycling champions Falilat Razaq and Hikmat Suleiman on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, at the Commission’s headquarters in Ilorin.
The duo, accompanied by their coaches, presented their medals and winning prizes from the prestigious tournament to the chairman in appreciation of the Commission’s support and encouragement.
Also present during the presentation were Mr. Haruna Tsado, Secretary of the Commission; Mallam Ibrahim Bako, Director of Sports; and the Chief Accountant of the Commission.
In his remarks, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji congratulated the cyclists for their impressive feat, describing their victory as a reflection of discipline, hard work, and the growing strength of sports development in Kwara State. He commended their dedication and urged them to remain focused and committed to greater achievements both nationally and internationally.
The chairman further praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering investment in youth and sports development, noting that the governor’s support has continued to inspire young athletes across the state to excel and bring honor to Kwara.
He assured the athletes and their coaches of the Commission’s continued support, emphasizing that their success serves as motivation for other young sportsmen and women in the state to pursue excellence.
The event ended with a group photograph, symbolizing a moment of pride and renewed commitment to sustaining Kwara’s dominance in cycling and other sporting disciplines.
