#DigiMediaSummit2025: President Tinubu Hails Youth as Nation Builders, Kwara Delegation Joins National Discourse on Digital Media

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded the innovation and influence of young Nigerians in the digital space, describing them as “not just the future, but the builders of it.” The remark was made during the maiden edition of the Progressive Digital Media Summit (#DigiMediaSummit2025), held at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja August 1, 202.
The event, organized by the Special Assistant on Social Media to the President, Hon. Dada Olusegun, was themed “Unveiling the Critical Role of New Media in National Development with a Focus on the Renewed Hope Agenda.” It brought together policymakers, state officials, governors, digital strategists, social media influencers, content creators, and communication professionals from across Nigeria.
President Tinubu, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as other dignitaries and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasized the need for responsible digital engagement. “Always verify before you amplify,” he cautioned, urging young digital professionals to use their platforms for national unity, progress, and responsible communication.
A 30-member delegation of progressive media professionals from Kwara State, led by Mr. Olayinka Fafoluyi, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Kwara State, was among the participants at the summit. The delegation’s presence underscored Kwara’s commitment to national conversations on the evolving role of digital media in governance and development.
Speaking after the summit, Mr. Fafoluyi expressed appreciation to the Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his unwavering support and for facilitating the participation of the state’s media representatives at the high-level event.
“This summit marks a turning point in the digital narrative of governance. On behalf of the Kwara delegation, I express our deepest gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his consistent support and vision. His commitment made it possible for Kwara to be visibly represented at this historic gathering,” Fafoluyi said.
The summit is expected to strengthen collaboration between the government and Nigeria’s vibrant digital media ecosystem, in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
