The Kwara State Badminton Association has congratulated Kwara-born para-badminton star Mariam Eniola Bolaji on her historic rise to World No. 1 in the SL3 category.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Prestinegist Media, the Chairperson of the association, Alhaja Oluwakemi Jimoh, described Bolaji’s achievement as a proud moment not only for Kwara State but for Nigeria as a whole.
According to her, Bolaji’s consistency, discipline, and determination have placed her among the global elite in para-badminton and confirmed Kwara State’s growing reputation as a hub for sporting excellence.
Alhaja Jimoh also praised the leadership of the national badminton authorities, commending the President and the entire Badminton Federation of Nigeria for their unwavering support, structured programs, and commitment to the development of para-badminton in the country.
She further expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Government for creating an enabling environment for sports to thrive, specifically thanking AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whose administration, she noted, has continued to prioritize youth and sports development.
The chairperson equally acknowledged the role of the Kwara State Sports Commission under the leadership of Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, praising the commission for its consistent support, motivation, and investment in athletes across different sports.
She concluded by assuring that the Kwara State Badminton Association will continue to stand firmly behind Eniola Bolaji and other upcoming players, as they strive to bring more global honors to Kwara State and Nigeria.
