Flying Eagles Midfielder Abduljelil Kamaldeen Presents WAFU B Silver Medal to Kwara Sports Boss

Abduljelil Kamaldeen, a Flying Eagles midfielder and graduate of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA), on Monday, July 28, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, at the Commission’s temporary headquarters in Ilorin.
During the visit, Kamaldeen presented his silver medal from the recently concluded WAFU B U-20 Championship held in Ghana, where Nigeria’s Flying Eagles emerged runners-up. The talented midfielder played a pivotal role in the tournament, scoring two goals and registering an assist for the national team.
In his remarks, Mallam Mogaji praised Kamaldeen’s performance, commending his commitment and contribution to the team’s impressive outing.
“I’m glad you didn’t just attend the WAFU B tournament to mark attendance — you made meaningful contributions and brought something home. Keep making us proud,” Mogaji said.
The chairman further encouraged Kamaldeen to remain focused and continue working hard to earn a place in the Flying Eagles squad that will represent Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Mallam Mogaji also used the occasion to commend the Kwara Football Academy for its continued impact on youth football development, applauding its administrator, Mallam Ibrahim Oladele Bako, for maintaining high standards in both football coaching and character-building.
He equally appreciated the Flying Eagles technical crew, including Head Coach Aliu Zubair, Assistant Coach Lukman Ijaiya, and support individuals like Abdullahi Agali, for their mentorship and for promoting young talents from Kwara State.
“I urge other Kwara coaches across clubs and academies to emulate Coach Ali Zubair and others by encouraging and believing in our homegrown talents,” he said.
In his response, Abduljelil Kamaldeen expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement, pledging to continue working hard and remain a good ambassador of Kwara State and the Kwara Football Academy.
“I won’t relent. I’ll keep giving my best to make Kwara and Nigeria proud,” he stated.
The visit underscores the commitment of the Kwara State Sports Commission to youth development through sports and the growing recognition of the Kwara Football Academy as a hub for nurturing elite football talent.
