Gov AbdulRazaq Commends President Tinubu’s Swift Intervention as 38 Eruku Abductees Regain Freedom

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON) has announced the release of 38 persons abducted during the recent attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area.

The victims, who had been held for several days, regained their freedom on Saturday, November 23, following intensified operations by security agencies acting on the direct orders of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Governor AbdulRazaq attributed the success of the operation to the President’s “hands-on and decisive leadership,” describing his intervention as the turning point in securing the release of the abductees.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, President Tinubu personally coordinated efforts to address the security breaches in both Kwara and Kebbi States.

“This is wholly due to the hands-on approach of President Bola Tinubu, who personally led the efforts to free the abductees,” Ajakaye stated.

“The President even cancelled his scheduled trip for the G20 Meeting in South Africa to prioritize the safety of our people. He also directed heightened security deployments to Kwara, underscoring his firm commitment to the wellbeing of Nigerians.”

Ajakaye added that four new tactical police teams have been deployed to Kwara State on the President’s directive, boosting ongoing security operations across affected communities.

The Governor also expressed profound appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Nigeria Police Force for their coordinated efforts that led to the rescue.

He extended gratitude to religious institutions, community leaders, security operatives, and all Kwarans for their solidarity and support since the incident occurred.

The rescued individuals have since been reunited with their families, bringing relief and renewed hope to the Eruku community and the state at large.
