Gov. AbdulRazaq’s Sponsorship Powers KFA to Ramat Cup as Mogaji Sends Off Team Nigeria to African Scrabble Championship

The first Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission and Patron of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Kwara State, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, has applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering commitment to sports and youth development.

Mogaji made the statement in an exclusive interview today 10th of August 2025.

Mogaji particularly commended the Governor for sponsoring the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) to participate in the 40th edition of the Late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed U-16 Boys’ Football Tournament in Nasarawa State, as well as sponsoring four Kwarans among Nigeria’s scrabble contingent to the 2025 African Scrabble Youth Championship in Nairobi, Kenya.

Speaking on Sunday, Mogaji congratulated Kwara’s U-16 boys for their emphatic 4–2 opening match victory over host state Nasarawa at the Lafia City Stadium. He urged them to remain focused and determined to win the Ramat Cup trophy for Kwara State, especially for Governor AbdulRazaq, their sponsor.

“I am proud of the boys for starting strong, but this is just the beginning. They must keep their eyes on the trophy and bring it home for Kwara,” Mogaji said.

He also sent a heartfelt message to Team Nigeria, who are departing for Nairobi today for the African Scrabble Championship. Mogaji prayed for their safe journey and encouraged them — particularly the four Kwarans — to be worthy ambassadors of both Nigeria and Kwara State.

“My advice is simple — stay focused, stay disciplined, and play with pride. Let every tile you place represent the determination and excellence of our nation. Come back with gold medals,” Mogaji charged.

The YSFON Kwara Patron emphasised that Governor AbdulRazaq’s continued investment in sports is positioning Kwara as a force to reckon with in various disciplines nationwide.

“As far as sports and youth development are concerned, Governor AbdulRahman remains the best in the history of Kwara State. His vision and commitment are evident in the growing achievements of our athletes locally and internationally,” Mogaji stated.

The Ramat Cup, which runs until August 16, 2025, remains one of Nigeria’s premier grassroots football tournaments, while the African Scrabble Youth Championship in Nairobi will gather top talents from across the continent to battle for glory.
