The Grand Finale of the Kwara Kiddies League (KKL) Season IV was held in grand style at the George Agbazika Innih Stadium, Ilorin, as the Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), described the league as a veritable platform for youth engagement, empowerment, and holistic development.
Kwara Football Academy (KFA) emerged champions of Season IV, capping a dominant campaign with a record 66 points and 21 wins from 26 matches, underlining their consistency and quality throughout the season.
The Governor, who was represented by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, commended the organisers and sponsors of the league, with special appreciation to the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation for its sustained investment in grassroots football development in Kwara State.
Governor AbdulRazaq praised the Foundation for promoting excellence through meaningful rewards, including the Player of the Season award, which was presented to Eko Martins of Kwara Football Academy, alongside other outstanding young footballers who distinguished themselves during the competition.
In his closing remarks, the Governor noted that Taiwo Awoniyi’s contribution to sports development in Kwara State extends beyond football, recalling the Foundation’s support for squash in the previous year, which he described as highly impactful.
“Awoniyi not only sponsors the Kiddies League; he has also supported other sports, including squash, and the impact has been remarkable,” the Governor stated.
He expressed deep appreciation to Taiwo Awoniyi for his unwavering commitment to youth development and the overall growth of sports in the state.
Speaking further, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji encouraged young footballers participating in the league to continue giving their best in future editions, urging them to remain focused, disciplined, and determined.
