Ilorin, March 19, 2025 – In the spirit of Ramadan and Lent, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, hosted members of the Kwara Comrades Community, youth leaders, and stakeholders to a fast-breaking event at the rejuvenated Flower Garden in Ilorin on Tuesday.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Olayinka Fafoluyi (Solace), the Governor’s gesture aimed at fostering unity, religious tolerance, and camaraderie among young leaders in the state. This comes just days after a similar gathering with the state’s new media team, online publishers, and social media influencers.
The event, chaired by former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Ibrahim Akaje, was attended by a diverse group of youth leaders, including the Adviser on Social Investment, Saddiq Buhari; Special Assistant on Students’ Affairs, Hon. AbdulSalam Wasiu; and former Special Assistant on Students’ Affairs, Hon. Mubarak Bello. Also present was Comrade Basambo Abubakar, the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in the 2023 election, alongside representatives of various youth organizations, former student leaders, and community stakeholders.
Hon. Akaje commended the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening youth engagement and fostering peace among young leaders. Comrade Basambo hailed the gathering as the first of its kind in Kwara State, appreciating the effort to unite youth stakeholders across different constituencies.
Expressing gratitude for the impressive turnout, Hon. Solace praised Governor AbdulRazaq for empowering a new generation of young leaders in the state. He announced that the event would now hold three times a year to strengthen relationships among the state’s youth groups.
Adding to the spirit of generosity, Hon. Solace distributed 200 bags of 10kg rice on behalf of the Governor, ensuring that participants left with not just memories but tangible support. He encouraged continued collaboration and support for the administration’s development agenda.
The event reinforced Governor AbdulRazaq’s reputation for inclusivity and support for youth development, highlighting his commitment to fostering a united and progressive Kwara State.
