Ilorin South APC Stakeholders aligns with call for power shift to Kwara North, urges disregard of detractors

Prominent stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin South local government has clarified its alignment with the position of some notable elders of the party from Kwara Central Senatorial District, calling for power shift to the Kwara North Senatorial District in the 2027 gubernatorial elections.

Stakeholders such as former House of Representatives member, Hon. Wahab Oladimeji Issa, former PDP Chairman of Ilorin South, Alhaji Nasiru Alikali and Alhaji Sule Cement, among others who were named in a recent fictitious publication, in a statement jointly signed by them, said it was necessary to address the issue, for record purpose, having sensed plots by certain politicians to use their names to deceive unsuspecting members of the public over their dispositions to the call for zoning guber to Kwara North, come 2027.

“Contrary to the claims made in the statement, we emphatically affirm our support for the power shift to Kwara North, aligning with the position of the Kwara Central Elders who recently addressed a press conference on the matter, as well as other well meaning Kwarans across the three senatorial districts of Kwara state. We believe their stance is in order and reflects a fair consideration for the future leadership of Kwara State, recognizing the need to promote justice and equity”.

“As stakeholders of Ilorin South, as rightly noted by the said publication, we are committed to contributing to the development and progress of Kwara State, and we believe that this zoning arrangement will foster unity and cooperation among the various zones”, the statement said.
