KATSINA GOVERNOR EXPOSES VILLAGE HEAD’S COLLUSION WITH BANDITS
Katsina State Governor, Dr Umaru Dikko Radda, has revealed a shocking case of corruption and complicity in the state’s ongoing battle against banditry. A village head in Guga village, Bakori local government, was arrested for accepting a N700,000 bribe from bandits, allowing them to invade his village and kill 30 innocent residents.
Governor Radda, who has been vocal about the involvement of high-placed individuals in banditry, stated that his administration has taken a strong stance against corruption and insecurity. He emphasized that poverty and injustice fuel the crisis and announced initiatives to address these underlying issues.
The governor’s comments come after a year of intensified efforts to tackle insecurity in the state. According to him, 35 bandits have been neutralized, 363 arrested, and 565 kidnap victims rescued. He also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers and government officials in perpetuating the crisis, vowing to hold them accountable.
