KFA Set for Intensive Training Camp at Ilaji Sports Resort Ahead of 2025 NLO Season

The Kwara Football Academy (KFA), under the leadership of its Administrator, Mallam Ibrahim Bako, is set to embark on a five-day intensive training camp at the renowned Ilaji Sports Resort in Oyo State, from April 5th to 9th, 2025.

This strategic move is part of the Academy’s final phase of preparations ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) season, which kicks off later this month.

A 30-man contingent comprising players and officials from the academy will travel to Ilaji, a serene town on the outskirts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. The Ilaji Sports Resort, one of Africa’s premier sporting facilities, offers an ideal environment for high-performance training and development.

During the training camp, KFA will engage in a series of high-intensity sessions and test matches against quality opposition, including Ilaji FC and Nigeria Premier Football League side, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), among others.

Speaking ahead of the trip, Mallam Ibrahim Bako explained that the choice of Ilaji Sports Resort was deliberate and rooted in the Academy’s commitment to excellence.

“We selected Ilaji Sports Resort because it provides the kind of atmosphere that encourages focus, discipline, and performance. Our aim is to ensure the players are well-prepared and in peak condition as we go into the new season,” Bako said.
He further stressed the Academy’s ambition to not just compete, but to push for promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL), the second tier of Nigerian football.

“Our ultimate goal is promotion. We believe with the right preparation, the right mindset, and the right support, our boys can achieve it. This camp is one of the strategic steps we’re taking to make that dream a reality.”

KFA made their debut in the Nigeria Nationwide League One last year and finished in an impressive 4th place in a group of ten teams during the 2024 season. With renewed determination and solid groundwork, the team is aiming to surpass that performance and make a strong statement in the 2025 campaign.

As the countdown to the new season begins, all eyes will be on KFA to see if this early investment in quality preparation will translate into success on the pitch.
