The Kwara State Government, under the forward-thinking leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has taken yet another bold stride in youth empowerment by extending its acclaimed School Coding and Digital Literacy Program into the holiday period.
The Holiday Edition is now live in selected secondary schools across the state, building on the momentum of a transformative initiative launched in February 2024.
Initially introduced in 50 public schools, the program is designed to equip students with essential digital skills that will enable them to succeed in an increasingly tech-driven world. Now, with the launch of the Holiday Edition, Kwara is reaffirming its commitment to innovation, empowerment, and inclusive access to digital education.
The future is digital—and it starts now
Tailored specifically for students and teenagers aged 12 to 15, the Holiday Edition builds on the achievements of the 2024/2025 second academic term. It provides a dynamic, hands-on learning experience that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through coding, digital literacy, innovation, and problem-solving—all within a fun and engaging environment.
This impactful initiative is proudly championed by the Kwara State Government and reflects Governor AbdulRazaq’s unwavering belief in the power of technology and innovation as tools for youth development and long-term socio-economic transformation.
Targeting 7,500 students across all 16 Local Government Areas of the state, the program introduces young learners to the fascinating world of technology. Participants will explore how digital tools shape their daily lives, gain practical experience, and develop basic projects—ranging from websites and simple programs to digital art and storytelling.
Led by seasoned instructors and passionate mentors, the program ensures that every student—regardless of background or prior exposure—feels included, capable, and inspired to embrace the opportunities of the digital age.
Through forward-looking initiatives like this, Kwara State is fast emerging as a center of innovation—where young minds are nurtured to become not just consumers of technology, but creators, builders, and leaders in the global digital economy.
