The Kwara State Government, through the Office of the Special Assistant on Digital Innovation, is pleased to announce the commencement of the Summer Holiday Edition of the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme. The second phase, focusing on Coding and Innovation Thinking, will officially begin on Monday, August 4, 2025, across all participating public schools in the state.
This exciting new phase builds on the remarkable success of the first phase, which introduced students to foundational Digital Literacy skills. The Summer Holiday Edition is designed to take learning a step further by equipping young learners with the ability to code, think critically, and develop innovative solutions—skills that are indispensable in today’s technology-driven world.
Programme Highlights:
– Hands-on Coding Fundamentals: Students will be introduced to programming languages such as Python and Scratch, enabling them to create simple applications and games while understanding the logic behind coding.
– Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Through real-world challenges, learners will develop the ability to analyze problems, brainstorm solutions, and apply computational thinking to everyday scenarios.
– Creativity & Digital Confidence: Project-based learning will encourage students to express their creativity, build digital portfolios, and gain confidence in using technology as a tool for innovation.
Under the guidance of experienced instructors and dedicated supervisors, the programme ensures that every student—regardless of their background or prior exposure to technology—feels welcome, empowered, and inspired to explore the vast possibilities of the digital age.
To guarantee the highest standards of learning, a dedicated monitoring team comprising representatives from the Kwara State Government House, Ministry of Education & Human Capital Development, and Business Innovation and Technology Unit will oversee programme implementation across all learning centers. This team will ensure quality, consistency, and equitable access for all participants.
