Chairman of the Committee of State Commissioners of Education (COSCEN), Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, has officially taken over the newly commissioned national secretariat in Abuja.
The hand-over ceremony at UBEC DRC, Jahi, Abuja, was attended by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmad, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr Aisha Garba and commissioners from across the federation.
Olohungbebe expressed sincere gratitude to His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his steadfast support to education and praised states’ commissioners for their dedication, describing the secretariat as a symbol of unity and shared purpose.
He highlighted that the secretariat will serve as a national hub for policy dialogue, inter-state collaboration, and sharing of best practices, ensuring consistent educational standards, stronger education reforms, and improved peer support across the country.
Olohungbebe also thanked the ministers and UBEC leadership for their support in realising the project, affirming that the COSCEN secretariat will strengthen coordination, innovation, and collaboration between federal and state stakeholders.
