AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara State, made his first appointment soon after taking the oath of office for his second term.
Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye was reappointed by the governor as his chief press secretary.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Head of Service, Susan Oluwole, announced the news in a statement on Monday.
Ajakaye reportedly assisted the governor throughout the first four years of his first term in office, and the governor has once more given his approval for him to assist him during his second term in office.
The statement stated that “The Executive Governor of Kwara State, H.E. Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has approved the reappointment of Mr Rafiu Ajakaye as the Chief Press Secretary.
“While congratulating Ajakaye for his reappointment, the HOS admonished him to rededicate himself to his responsibility as the Governor’s spokesperson.”
According to earlier reports, AbdulRazaq took the oath of office for a second term and committed to continue serving the state’s citizens as a responsible and responsive leader.
He and his deputy governor, Kayode Alabi, were reportedly joined by their spouses, Mrs. Olufolake AbdulRazaq and Mrs. Abieyuwa Alabi, as well as friends and family.
The Governor was sworn in after the Deputy Governor by Kwara State Chief Judge Justice Abiodun Adebara.
