Kwara Govt Launches Special Intervention to Resolve Isolated Salary, Pension Complaints

Cabinet Members, Technocrats Deployed Across 16 LGAs for On-the-Spot Troubleshooting Sessions

The Kwara State Government has announced a special state-wide intervention to address isolated complaints relating to delayed salaries and pensions of civil servants and retirees across the state’s 16 local government areas.

This targeted initiative, which runs from Thursday, July 31 to Monday, August 4, 2025 (excluding Sunday, August 3), will feature dedicated troubleshooting sessions at each Local Government Headquarters. The effort is part of the administration’s ongoing commitment to ensure prompt and accurate payment of entitlements to all public sector workers and pensioners.

In a statement released on Tuesday July 30, 2025, through Babatunde Toyin Abdulrasheed, Press Secretary of Ministry of Finance, Kwara State Dr Hauwa Nuru, the State Commissioner for Finance, said the sessions will be led by cabinet members assigned to their respective LGAs and supported by relevant technocrats from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

“While the vast majority of civil servants and pensioners continue to receive their pay regularly, we are aware of isolated complaints affecting some individuals,” Dr Nuru said. “This exercise is designed to provide immediate, face-to-face resolutions to any lingering issues, ensuring that no one is left behind.”

Affected individuals are advised to appear in person with the following documents to facilitate speedy resolution:

Original Employment or Appointment Letter
Work or Pensioner Identity Card
Any other supporting documents

Dr Nuru emphasized that the initiative underscores Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s unwavering commitment to worker welfare and financial transparency in governance.

“This is a government that listens and responds. The Governor believes that everyone who has served or is serving deserves to be paid accurately and on time. This exercise is a reflection of that belief,” she added.

All concerned civil servants and pensioners are urged to take full advantage of the sessions and present any unresolved issues during the scheduled dates.
