Kwara South U-15 Table Tennis Championship: Monisola Makanjuola Praises Governor AbdulRahman, Hon. Ajuloopin, Mogaji, Others

The Permanent Member representing Kwara South at the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mrs. Yemisi Monisola Makanjuola, has expressed profound appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other key stakeholders for their roles in the success of the maiden Kwara South U-15 Table Tennis Championship held on the 27th and 28th of November 2025.
Speaking at the finals of the championship, Mrs. Makanjuola praised Governor AbdulRazaq for what she described as his “consistent and unstoppable development of sports across the state”. According to her, the governor’s investment in facilities, personnel, and youth programmes has transformed the sports landscape and inspired leaders at all levels to contribute more to grassroots development.
She also paid glowing tribute to Honorable Abdulraheem Olawuyi Tunji Ajuloopin, whose sponsorship powered the first edition of the championship. She described the federal lawmaker as “a dependable partner in youth development whose support continues to open opportunities for young talents in Kwara South.”
Mrs. Makanjuola further acknowledged the leadership of the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, noting that his commitment, guidance, and passion for sports development played a crucial role in the successful hosting of the championship. She said the chairman’s vision for grassroots sports has continued to motivate her to introduce more programmes that target young athletes.
She also appreciated fellow members of the Sports Commission, Local Government Chairmen, Sports Coordinators, coaches, and community supporters who worked collectively to ensure a smooth and impactful event.
The two-day tournament, featuring teenagers across the six local governments of Kwara South, provided a platform for discovering new table tennis talents. Both male and female categories produced exciting performances, with Ifelodun Local Government emerging champions in the finals.
Participants and stakeholders described the championship as a major boost for youth sports development in the region and a model that should be sustained annually.
The event also witnessed goodwill messages from dignitaries, including the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti, who commended the organisers and prayed for the continued growth of sports in Kwara State.
With the maiden edition now concluded, the Kwara South U-15 Table Tennis Championship is already being hailed as a landmark initiative that will continue to shape future stars and strengthen grassroots sports development across the zone.
