Hon. Owolabi Olatunde Rasaq, the Member representing Share/Oke-Ode Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, has lauded the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, for his outstanding contributions in bringing greater recognition to the state’s sports sector.
Hon. Owolabi made these remarks on February 26, 2025, while addressing guests at a celebration party in honor of Vincent Okumagba, the Interim Management Committee Chairman of the Unified Nigeria Football and Sports Supporters Group. The event, held at Emirate Hotel, Ilorin, was organized by the Kwara State Chapter Chairman of the group, Architect Olubunmi Dickalo.
In his speech, Hon. Owolabi expressed deep appreciation for the leadership of Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, particularly for appointing Mallam Bolakale Mogaji to lead the state’s sports commission. He noted that the appointment has significantly enhanced the visibility and development of sports in the state.
“I want to sincerely thank my leader, His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for his continuous efforts in transforming Kwara State. I especially appreciate him for giving the sports community a leader like Mallam Bolakale Mogaji, who has not only revitalized sports in Kwara but has also created more awareness about the role of the Sports Commission,” Hon. Owolabi stated.
He admitted that before Mallam Bolakale Mogaji’s leadership, he had little knowledge about the activities of the Kwara State Sports Commission. However, through Mogaji’s dedication, transparency, and commitment to sports development, many—including himself—now recognize the vital role the commission plays in nurturing talent, supporting athletes, and promoting sports excellence across the state.
Hon. Owolabi further praised the commission’s efforts in engaging grassroots athletes, improving sports infrastructure, and ensuring Kwara’s active participation in national and international sporting events. He emphasized that the current leadership has successfully positioned Kwara State as a rising force in Nigerian sports.
The event was attended by top dignitaries, sports enthusiasts, and key stakeholders in the Kwara sports community, who also acknowledged the remarkable progress being made under the leadership of Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji.
