
The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, on Friday presented the championship trophy to the victorious team captain at the grand finale of the Mallam Ibrahim Bako U-13 Championship held at the Kwara Football Academy.
The colourful event attracted young football talents, coaches, sports administrators, and stakeholders who gathered to celebrate grassroots football development in the state.
Mallam Mogaji, who personally handed over the trophy to the winning captain, also rewarded the Player of the Match with a cash gift in recognition of his outstanding performance during the final encounter. The gesture drew applause from spectators and underscored the Commission’s commitment to encouraging excellence and rewarding hard work among young athletes.
In an emotional moment during the ceremony, the Chairman offered heartfelt prayers for Mallam Ibrahim Oladele Bako, Director of Sports, who officially retired from active service on the same day.
Mogaji described Mallam Bako as a dedicated sports administrator whose years of service significantly contributed to the growth and development of sports in Kwara State.
He prayed for good health, longevity, and a fulfilling life in retirement for the retiring Director, noting that his legacy in sports administration would continue to inspire the younger generation.
The championship, organised in honour of Mallam Ibrahim Bako, further highlighted the state government’s renewed focus on grassroots sports development and youth empowerment.
