N700 Million Or Death: How Kidnappers Killed Three Abuja Residents In Cold Blood
Abuja, Nigeria – A wave of terror and grief has swept through the Sagwari Layout estate in Dutse, Abuja, as kidnappers have killed three of the 10 persons they abducted on January 7.
The kidnappers, who are demanding a whopping N700 million ransom for the remaining seven hostages, have threatened to kill more if their demands are not met.
According to sources, the kidnappers have increased their ransom from the initial N60 million per person to N100 million, after killing one of the captives on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as a 13-year-old high school student, Folorunsho Ariyo, who was snatched along with his parents and siblings.
The kidnappers reportedly killed two more hostages on Monday, to send a strong warning to their relatives who are negotiating for their release.
The names and identities of the other victims have not been disclosed for security reasons.
The kidnappers, who are believed to be operating from some villages in Bwari, have been terrorizing the residents of Sagwari Layout for months, with no effective response from the government and security agencies.
The residents, who are fed up with the situation, have planned to stage a massive protest on Tuesday, to demand for the rescue of their kin and the arrest of the kidnappers.
The protest was initially scheduled for Monday, but was postponed due to the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The residents have appealed to the authorities to intervene and save the lives of the innocent citizens who are in the hands of the ruthless bandits.
