Naira Marley and Samlarry Reunite with Zinoleesky After Police Release
Nigerian singer Naira Marley and Samlarry have made their first public appearance since they were arrested by the police for questioning in connection with the death of their colleague Mohbad. The duo were seen hanging out with Zinoleesky, who is signed to Naira Marley’s record label, in Lagos on Tuesday.
Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, was pronounced dead at a hospital on September 12, 2023, after he received an injection from a nurse who treated him at his home. The nurse, identified as Maryam Abubakar, was arrested and charged with manslaughter. She claimed that she administered the injection on Mohbad’s request.
Naira Marley and Samlarry, who were close friends with Mohbad, were also arrested on October 4, 2023, as part of the investigation. They were released on bail after nine weeks, but they remained silent on social media and avoided the public eye until now.
The trio of Naira Marley, Samlarry and Zinoleesky were spotted at a popular restaurant in Lagos, where they enjoyed a meal and posed for pictures with fans.
Naira Marley, who is known for his controversial songs and lifestyle, said that he was devastated by the loss of his “brother” and that he hoped that justice would be served.
Zinoleesky, who joined Naira Marley’s record label Marlian Music in 2019, said that he looked up to Mohbad as his “mentor” and that he learned a lot from him. He also said that he was proud to be part of the Marlian Music family, and that he would continue to make music that would honor Mohbad’s legacy.
