The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finalized plans to install Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in regional stadiums across the country, while initiatives to rehabilitate and train referees are also ongoing.
At the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA)’s National Elective Delegates Conference on Saturday in Ilorin, the federation’s president, Malam Ibrahim Gusau, made this declaration.
Gusau tasked the association’s new leadership to build development plans, forecast, organize, and make sure that the future of Nigerian referees is properly fostered and watered in order to the growth of the game. Gusau was represented by an NFF official, Malam Muhammed Ameenu.
Gusau stated that the installation of VAR is essential to the growth and development of football while emphasizing the NFF’s unwavering support for the NRA in their efforts to transform the national game.
According to News Agency, Elder Daniel Olokor lost the election to Malam Sani Zubair after receiving 53 votes from the 54 accredited delegates, replacing Otunba Tade Azeez.
