Nigerian Arrested For Chatting, Sending Intimate Pictures To Underage Girl In UK
A Nigerian man faces charges of child sexual exploitation after he was caught sending explicit messages and images to a 14-year-old girl in the UK.
The man, who is 30 years old and has a three-month-old child, moved to England a month ago. He met the girl on a dating site and continued to communicate with her despite knowing her age.
He asked her to send him photos of her breasts and also sent her photos of his genitals. The girl reported him to the authorities and he was arrested.
A video of his arrest was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Oyindamola with the handle @dammiedammie35. The video has gone viral and sparked outrage among Nigerians online.
This is not the first time a Nigerian has been involved in such a scandal. A few years ago, another Nigerian man was arrested in Scotland after he travelled to meet a 13-year-old girl he had befriended online. He was later deported to Nigeria.
These incidents highlight the need for Nigerians who migrate to other countries to be aware of the laws and culture of their host nations, especially regarding issues of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
