Shocking: Young Woman Found Dead In A Sack In Makurdi
A gruesome discovery was made on Sunday morning, January 28, 2024, when a body of a young woman was found in a refuse dump in Nyima Hudco quarters, Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.
The victim, whose identity is yet to be established, was apparently killed by unknown assailants who tied her up in a sack and dumped her at the scene.
The incident was reported by Nigerian activist, Ukan Kurugh, who shared photos of the body on social media and called for the intervention of the police.
“THE POLICE IS NEEDED HERE NOW. I just got a sad report now that a young lady has been found killed, tied put in a sack and throw at a refuse dump around Iorapuu Adai street nyima hudco quarters. The attention of the security is immediately called to action here over this evil act,” he wrote.
The police have confirmed the receipt of the report and said they have launched an investigation into the matter.
The motive behind the killing is still unknown, but some residents suspect it could be related to ritual activities or gender-based violence.
The incident has sparked outrage and condemnation from various quarters, who have called for justice for the deceased and an end to the spate of insecurity and violence in the state.
