Taraba University Bans Tattoos, Eyelashes, Earrings, Necklaces, Mini-skirts Others
Taraba State University (TSU) has issued a circular banning students from wearing miniskirts, face caps, rolled sleeves, and other outfits that are considered indecent on campus.
The circular, signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sunday Paul Bako, directed lecturers to deny entry to students who violate the dress code in lecture halls. The VC said the students had shown disregard for the university’s rules and regulations on dressing.
He also urged deans, heads of departments, and faculty officers to enforce the dress code in their respective colleges, schools, and faculties.
The circular listed the prohibited clothing items, such as transparent, skimpy, or revealing dresses; tattered or dirty jeans with holes or offensive messages; shirts without buttons or improperly buttoned; sleeves rolled up or collar open; face caps or full face covering with dark glasses; and tight-fitting clothes.
The circular also warned students against wearing earrings, necklaces, plaited hair, or coloured artificial hair for males; and unkempt, extremely bogus, brightly tinted, or artificial hair; long eyelashes, nails, or dreadlocks for females.
The University Management said any student who flouts the dress code would face appropriate sanctions.
