WICKED HUSBAND: MAN ATTEMPTS TO POISON WIFE FOR HER WEALTH
A 40-year-old man, Habu Ibrahim, has been arrested by the Jigawa State Police Command for allegedly trying to poison his wife, Zakiya Uzairu, in order to inherit her wealth in Danadama village, Sule Tankarkar LGA.
The State Police Commissioner, A T. Abdullahi, revealed this in a statement to PRISTINEGIST, saying that the suspect was caught red-handed after he spiked a drink and meat with poison and offered them to his 35-year-old wife.
He said that the police received a tip-off from a concerned citizen and dispatched detectives from the Sule Tankarkar Division to the scene, where they apprehended the suspect.
CP. Abdullahi said that the suspect was taken to the Divisional Police office in Sule Tankarkar for interrogation and was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for further investigation.
“During the interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, confirming the accuracy of the information provided to the police.
“He admitted that he wanted to kill his wife to take over her livestock, which included goats, sheep, and cows.
“He said that his wife narrowly escaped death after she smelled the poison and suspected his evil plot,” the police said.
