The construction work on the Kwara Revenue House is progressing steadily and is now nearing completion, according to the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi.
Fafoluyi disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the project, initiated by the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, is being executed with strict adherence to quality assurance and modern construction standards.
He said the edifice, when completed, will serve as the headquarters of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), providing a befitting environment for efficient revenue collection, data management, and tax administration across the state.
“The Kwara Revenue House is designed to strengthen institutional capacity, promote accountability, and improve the state’s internally generated revenue base,” Fafoluyi stated.
“Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration remains focused on building strong institutions that can sustain economic growth beyond government tenures.”
He explained that the modern administrative complex will stand as one of the most remarkable revenue administration structures in Nigeria and West Africa, reflecting the Governor’s commitment to innovation and good governance.
Residents and professionals have commended the ongoing project, describing it as a major step forward in institutional development. They noted that it will not only centralize KW-IRS operations but also foster transparency and efficiency in tax administration.
Fafoluyi added that Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration has, over the past six years, consistently demonstrated commitment to workers’ welfare through the timely payment of salaries, promotions, and provision of conducive working environments for civil servants.
“The Revenue House project is a reflection of the Governor’s belief in institutional reforms and sustainable governance,” he added.
The statement further reaffirmed the administration’s #IseNtesiwaju (Work-in-Progress) philosophy, which emphasizes steady development, accountability, and improved public service delivery across the state.
