Yobe Police Nab Suspected Kidnapper with ₦1.6 Million Ransom
In a daring operation, Yobe State Police Command has apprehended a notorious kidnapping suspect, Usmanu Garba, 30, with his share of ₦1.6 million ransom money.
The arrest was made on July 5, 2024, at 1:30 pm, by detectives from the State Intelligent Department (SID), as the suspect was on his way to spend his loot.
According to the Police spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the gang had kidnapped a resident in Babaram Muktum, Gujba LGA, and collected the ransom.
The suspect confessed to the crime and is cooperating with investigators. The police are now hunting for other syndicate members who are on the run.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, urges the public to be vigilant and report suspicious activities, promising that no crime will go unpunished if reported.
