Kwara, alongside Kaduna and Osun States, has been ranked the three top states on transparency and integrity compliance for 2026.
The ranking is contained in a data recently released by Statisense.
The assessment ranked states across Nigeria on key Transparency and Integrity Index (TII), including financial transparency, open procurement, control of corruption and citzens’ engagement, as well as human resources.
At the national level, Kwara stood at 3rd, while Kaduna and Osun ranked 1st and 2nd respectively.
Kwara State is the only one from North central to make the top twelve in the report.
It has been said the data demonstrates the transparency and integrity with which the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration has run the government since 2019.
Apart from being up to date on annual budget, the administration has instituted citzens’ engagement across the three senatorial districts, giving the people a voice in resource allocation and fiscal planning.
The administration has gradually built a system that engender accountability and enforce control of corruption within its system.
The data contrasted the misleading insinuations around the financial integrity and transparency of the state.
Similarly, Kwara has recently earned recognitions in different reports on its growing economy, improving ease of doing business, and emergence as one of the few states that are least reliant on federal allocation in the country.
