In a remarkable display of creativity and innovation, Cradlecare Africa, a pioneering health technology startup, has secured the coveted 1st runners-up position at the highly competitive Kids Innovation Challenge 2023.
Cradlecare, born from the brilliant minds of Tomilola Abayomi, Emmanuel Ishola, Ibrahim Olawuyi, and Abdulsamad Adeyemi, all nurtured by the Edtech Platform KidsTech Africa, captured the attention of judges and fellow participants with their exceptional organization and groundbreaking medical record system. This system is specifically designed for children aged 0-17, aiming to combat the grave issue of infant mortality in sub-Saharan Africa.
The heart of Cradlecare lies in its capacity for precise medical record management, facilitating seamless tracking by both parents and medical professionals. Moreover, it offers a vital notification system, ensuring timely alerts for hospital appointments and immunization schedules, among other critical functions.
The journey to victory was not without fierce competition, as seven promising startups reached the final stage and demo day of the Kids Innovation Challenge, after a rigorous selection process that saw numerous entries eliminated.
Notably, this isn’t Cradlecare’s first triumph in 2023. Earlier in the year, the startup clinched the 2nd runners-up position at the e-Govt Hackathon, organized by the Ilorin Innovation Hub in January 2023. Subsequently, they triumphed at the African Teen Tech Fest 2023 in May, solidifying their reputation as innovators on the rise.
As a testament to their commitment to improving child healthcare, Cradlecare recently unveiled a beta version of their solution through a user-friendly web app, accessible at www.cradlecareafrica.com.
