Ilorin, Kwara State – In a significant show of solidarity, youth and women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara Central Senatorial District convened at the Adewole Progressive Association Hall, Ilorin, to reaffirm their unwavering support for Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
The strategic meeting, which brought together representatives from all 52 wards in the senatorial district, focused on strengthening party unity and ensuring grassroots awareness of ongoing developments within the APC. The gathering was a follow-up to the recent National Executive Council (NEC) meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC state governors.
Addressing the attendees, Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Sai Kaiyi, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Political Affairs, underscored the importance of keeping party members at the grassroots informed about key national and state-level decisions. He emphasized that the meeting aimed to reinforce cohesion within the party while formally passing a vote of confidence in Governor Abdulrazaq’s leadership.
Women Leaders Commend Governor’s Leadership
Sulaiman Tawakalitu, the APC Kwara Central Women Leader, commended the commitment of women leaders to the party’s growth and governance agenda. She called on them to remain steadfast in supporting Governor Abdulrazaq’s administration, particularly in its efforts to foster development and inclusivity across the state.
The meeting was attended by top APC stakeholders, including Muftau Akanbi Oke, a representative of the senator for Ilorin West/Asa Constituency; Abdulmajeed Abdulwahab Temidire, popularly known as Aburo Gomina; and Alhaji Turawa, the APC Kwara Central Chairman.
Youth Leaders Applaud Developmental Strides
Several APC youth leaders used the platform to highlight the governor’s achievements in their respective local government areas. Hamzah Wasiu Bolaji from Odo-Ode Ward in Asa Local Government praised Governor Abdulrazaq’s developmental projects in Asa, while urging for more youth empowerment initiatives.
Similarly, Muritala Abdulraheem from Ilorin East commended the administration’s youth-centered policies, citing the Kwara State Social Investment Program (KWASSIP) as a game-changer in grassroots economic empowerment. Awayeawasere Abdulfatai from Ilorin West emphasized that the present administration had restored dignity and pride among party members, unlike the previous government. He also called for direct engagement between the governor and party youths to strengthen ties.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Hon. Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje Whyte, the Special Assistant (SA) on Political Affairs, described the event as a reflection of the party’s strong grassroots support. He lauded the commitment of the youth and women leaders, emphasizing that their active participation was a testament to the governor’s effective leadership.
