Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has hailed the outstanding performance of Kwara State public school students who emerged champions at the 2025 Asia Parliamentary International Debate Competition (Junior Secondary School Category) in Malaysia.
On social media today 7th of December, the Governor described the achievement as “a huge feat that has once again placed Kwara and Nigeria on the global map for academic excellence and scholarship.”
Governor AbdulRazaq said he was particularly excited that the students, representing Nigeria on the international stage, displayed brilliance, confidence, and resilience that ultimately secured the championship against 15 other countries from Asia, Africa, and Europe.
He noted that the repeated success of Kwara students both nationally and internationally is clear evidence that the administration’s investment in basic education is yielding meaningful and measurable results.
“This win and the previous ones demonstrate clearly that our investment in basic education is making the right impact. We are encouraged to do more for our learners and the entire education sector in the state,” the Governor said.
Governor AbdulRazaq also commended the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (Kwara SUBEB), led by Prof. Sheu Raheem Adaramaja, as well as the coaches and other stakeholders whose dedication and commitment were instrumental to the students’ triumph.
He reaffirmed that the administration will continue to prioritise policies and programmes that enhance teaching, learning, and overall educational development across the state.
The Governor concluded by celebrating the young champions for bringing honour and pride to Kwara State and Nigeria, emphasizing that their success strengthens the state’s resolve to build a globally competitive education system.
