2027: Emir of Gwanara, Imam Maraba leads prayers for Speaker Danladi’s guber, President Tinubu’s reelection bid

Gwanara Central Mosque was on Saturday , filled to the brim, as the Emir of Gwanara, HRH Alh. Dr. Abdullahi Sabi Idris OFR, Kotokotogi II, convened a special prayer session for the 2027 gubernatorial ambition of Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu Danladi and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The well-attended session drew dignitaries, community leaders, clerics and supporters from across the emirate. Led by the Chief Imam of Gwanara, Alh. Salihu Suleiman, the prayers opened with recitations from the Holy Qur’an, followed by fervent supplications for Divine guidance, peace and progress in Kwara State and Nigeria.
Addressing the gathering, the Emir emphasized the place of prayer in leadership and national affairs. “We must seek divine guidance in all endeavors, especially in politics,” he said. “I urge you all to support Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu Danladi and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with both prayers and efforts. Their leadership will usher in positive change for our state and nation, as their present office have brought significant progress to our communities.”
In his sermon, Chief Imam Suleiman spoke on the virtues of good leadership and the duty of citizens to back leaders who serve the people’s interest. He described prayer as a powerful tool for influencing outcomes and called for sustained supplications for Danladi and Tinubu.
The session climaxed with a communal prayer for national unity, peace and development, alongside specific prayers for the political success of the two figures ahead of 2027. Attendees commended the Emir for the initiative and pledged continued support.
Earlier on Friday, the Imam Maraba in Ilorin, the state capital, Imam Aliyu Olayinka Gbamuragaji also organized a special prayer session for the realization of the gubernatorial ambition of Speaker Danladi, asking Allah to grant his heart desire for the benefit of the generality of Kwarans.
At the congregational prayer session held at the popular Maraba Central Mosque after observing first Jumaat for the month of May, where a complete Quran was recited, Imam Olayinka Gbamuragaji described Speaker Danladi as a notable political leader in Kwara state, with a strong goodwill and firm believe in the power of prayers. He thus beseeched Allah SWT to make his ambition to govern Kwara state a reality.
The two gatherings underscored the deep intersection of faith and politics in Kwara state, but sends a strong signal of cross-cutting acceptability, unity and spiritual backing for Speaker Danladi and President Tinubu 2027 aspirations.
