The AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration has approved a 30 percent Peculiar Allowance for workers in Agencies, Parastatals, and Media Houses across the state public service.
The approval, according to the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu, is aimed at ensuring equity and inclusiveness for workers who were not captured in the earlier implementation of the allowance for mainstream civil servants.
In a statement issued by the Press Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Okanlawon Solomon, Dr. Shittu disclosed that the implementation of the new allowance will commence from June 1, 2026.
She described the approval as another demonstration of Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to workers’ welfare and efforts to improve morale and productivity across the state workforce.
The Acting Head of Service commended the Governor for sustaining worker-friendly policies and maintaining support for the public service, noting that the administration has continued to prioritize fairness in governance.
Dr. Shittu also urged workers in the affected establishments to remain dedicated and supportive of government programmes aimed at advancing the development of Kwara State.
The statement further revealed that salaries for the month of May were paid ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to allow workers celebrate the festive period comfortably with their families.
She congratulated workers and Muslim faithful on the Sallah celebration and prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Kwara State.
