Audu Pays Courtesy Visit to Governor AbdulRazaq in Ilorin
Dr. Audu Musa Idowu, former Director-General of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, at the Ahmadu Bello House in Ilorin.
Dr. Audu, who recently resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was received by Governor AbdulRazaq during the visit, which attracted key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Among those present were the Kwara State APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Adeniran Fagbemi; member representing Ekiti Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel; as well as other party leaders, members and stakeholders.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Dr. Audu and Governor AbdulRazaq to exchange views, coming at a time of heightened political activities and realignments across Kwara State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dr. Audu’s resignation from the PDP has attracted considerable interest within the state’s political circles, particularly given his previous association with the political establishment of former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
His decision to leave the opposition party, followed by a courtesy visit to Governor AbdulRazaq in the presence of senior APC stakeholders, has consequently generated discussions about the evolving political landscape in the state.
However, neither Dr. Audu nor the governor publicly indicated that the courtesy visit amounted to a formal declaration or defection to the APC.
The meeting nonetheless underscored the continuing political engagements among stakeholders as parties and political actors position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s reception of Dr. Audu also reflects the administration’s continued engagement with political stakeholders across the state as discussions around the next electoral cycle intensify.
The courtesy visit ended with Dr. Audu, the governor, the APC leadership and other stakeholders exchanging pleasantries and views on matters of political and public interest.
