…Stakeholders cite equity, competence, continuity and AbdulRazaq administration’s achievements
Top leaders, elder statesmen, professionals and captains of industry from Offa have thrown their weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) joint ticket of its governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Saliu Yakubu Danladi, and his running mate, Hon. Seun Ogunniyi Adato, ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
The endorsement, which is being seen as another boost to the APC’s campaign in Kwara South, was expressed on the sidelines of the public presentation of The Unexplained Wealth Trilogy, authored by constitutional lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Wahab Shittu, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The gathering brought together prominent Offa indigenes, professionals and community leaders who rallied around Adato and the Danladi-Adato ticket, stressing the importance of unity, equity and continued development in Kwara State.
Among the prominent Offa leaders and stakeholders at the gathering were Dr. A.W.A. Ibraheem; Alhaji Tajudeen Owoyemi, the Asiwaju of Offa; Rafiu Adeyanju; Barrister Lawal Rabana (SAN); Alhaji Bola Oyebode; Dr. Waheed Olagunju; Dr. Layi Bello; Dr. Remi Oni; Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN); and Alhaji Azeez Bukoye.
The stakeholders, according to the gathering, expressed confidence in Adato’s capacity and political experience, describing his emergence as the APC deputy governorship candidate as an opportunity for greater representation and stronger participation of Kwara South in the leadership of the state.
Adato, who represents Ojomu/Balogun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and the joint ticket.
“I am profoundly honoured and humbled to receive the collective endorsement of our leaders gathered here at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos,” Ogunniyi said.
“These leaders have each served as pillars of mentorship to me in one way or the other, remaining beacons of leadership, integrity and selfless service to our community, state and nation.”
He added: “This expression of trust reinforces our dedication to service under the APC banner, and we remain firmly committed to moving Kwara State forward through progressive governance and genuine stakeholder engagement.”
The latest development comes on the heels of a major political statement in Offa last weekend, where the Olofa of Offa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II (Ajagungbade I), publicly declared the support of the Offa community for the APC.
The monarch, while receiving the APC deputy governorship candidate during his homecoming programme, cited equity and fairness, as well as the achievements recorded by the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over the past seven years, among the reasons for the community’s position.
The combination of the traditional endorsement in Offa and the latest show of support from influential Offa stakeholders in Lagos has further elevated the political profile of the Danladi-Adato ticket in Kwara South.
The developments also point to growing efforts by APC stakeholders to consolidate the party’s grassroots and elite support across the senatorial district ahead of the 2027 elections.
With Adato bringing a strong Offa connection to the ticket and Danladi leading the governorship campaign, APC stakeholders believe the partnership offers an opportunity to build on the development agenda of the AbdulRazaq administration while strengthening inclusion, continuity and equitable representation across Kwara State.
The growing endorsements have consequently positioned the Danladi-Adato ticket as one of the major talking points in Kwara’s emerging 2027 political landscape, with APC supporters increasingly projecting the ticket as a vehicle for continuity and further development in the state.
