Oyo Guber: Makinde Wins 31 Of 33 LGA’s, As INEC Goes On 20-minutes Break Before Announcing Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer for the governorship election in Oyo State has announced a 20-minute delay before the announcement of the final results.

PRISTINEGIST has learned that Seyi Makinde, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is anticipated to be proclaimed the victor after establishing an unassailable lead in the results so far announced.

Makinde is predicted to triumph over Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Adebayo Adelabu of the Accord Party in the election held on March 18, 2023, on Saturday.

Makinde of the PDP won 31 of the state’s 33 local government areas (LGAs), while the APC won two, according to figures thus far announced at the collation center.

Teslim received 251,230 votes, Adelabu 38,757 votes, and Makinde 563,617 votes overall.
