The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been shifted the beginning of 2026 in Morocco, avoiding clash with club world cup.
Originally scheduled to take place in June, the tournament faced a clash with the expanded 32-team Club World Cup, set to be held in the United States from June 15 to July 13.
The reason is the overcrowded FIFA calendar at the end of next season which includes the new expanded format of the Club World Cup, held in June and July 2025.
