Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has invited 9,459 applicants to participate in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) as part of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment process. The CBT is scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
According to TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed, as announced by the Press Secretary today, February 17th, 2025, a total of 9,459 applicants have been invited to participate in the next stage of the recruitment process, having successfully met the required criteria, including having completing their online application, Holding relevant university degrees and Meeting the stipulated age requirement.
Out of the 26,349 candidates who started the application process, 11,617 completed it, but only 9,459 were shortlisted for the CBT. The shortlisted applicants comprise 8,319 Kwarans (87.95%) and 1,140 non-indigenes (12.05%).
The applicants will be tested on various subjects, with 45.80% (4,332) applying to teach STEM subjects. The candidates are evenly split between males (49.78%) and females (50.22%), with 40 persons living with disabilities (PLWD) also shortlisted.
The CBT will take place across eight centers in Kwara State, including Thomas Adewunmi University, Oko, and the University of Ilorin. Applicants are required to visit the portal to choose their preferred CBT center and print their examination slip, which must be brought to the center on the day of the exam.
TESCOM has assured that special care will be provided to applicants with disabilities at the CBT centers. The commission has also emphasized the importance of applicants conducting themselves appropriately throughout the recruitment process.
