Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has settled the medical bills of four journalists who were involved in a road accident in Efue, Asa Local Government Area of the state, and also provided them with cash support.
The journalists, who sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident, were involved in the incident earlier today while travelling to Alapa in Asa Local Government Area for an official assignment.
Those involved are Aiyelabegan Babatunde Abdulrasaq of Just Event Online Publications (JEO), Saeed Tijjani of 9jaParrot, Umar Umar of Trove Online Media, and Isiaka Sulyman of Trove Online Media.
Senior Special Assistant on Communications to the Governor, Ibraheem Abdullateef delivered the message while the Journalists were receiving treatment at Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin.
The accident occurred at Adabata Efue along the route to Alapa, when the Toyota Sienna conveying the journalists lost balance and somersaulted in a violent road crash.
Following the incident, the journalists received medical attention, after which Governor AbdulRazaq intervened by clearing their hospital bills and donating cash to support their recovery.
The gesture has been described as a timely intervention for the affected journalists, who were on their way to cover an official assignment when the accident occurred.
