Cycling Association Praises Gov. AbdulRazaq, Bola Mogaji for Sports Development
Kwara State’s female cyclists have continued to make the state proud, with the Kwara State Cycling Association attributing their recent successes to the sustained investment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in sports and the leadership of the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji.
The cyclists recorded another impressive outing at the September edition of the Pitstop Cycling Criterium, with Falilat Abdulrasaq winning the Gold medal, while Sulaimon Hikmat secured Silver.
The latest achievement comes barely a month after the duo also mounted the podium at the August edition of the competition, where Hikmat won Silver and Abdulrasaq claimed Bronze in a field of 40 female cyclists.
Reacting to the latest feat, the Kwara State Cycling Association commended the cyclists for their consistency, determination and commitment to excellence, noting that their performances are helping to place Kwara prominently on the cycling map.
The Association also expressed appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for what it described as his administration’s huge investment in sports development, athlete support and the creation of an enabling environment for athletes to discover and maximise their potential.
It further praised Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, for his leadership and commitment to grassroots sports development in the state.
According to the Association, the continued success of Kwara athletes across different sporting disciplines reflects the impact of sustained investment, proper coordination and encouragement of athletes.
The Association said the latest cycling medals would further motivate its athletes to work harder and represent Kwara with distinction at national and international competitions.
It also thanked Kwarans, sports stakeholders, supporters and well-wishers for their prayers and continued support for Team Kwara.
The statement was signed by Ahmed Rahman Tosho, Assistant Secretary, Kwara State Cycling Association.
