The Kwara State Sports Commission under the leadership of Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji has partnered with ROTAMEDICS Pharmacy on the annual upkeep and refurbishment of the two main gates of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin, as part of the pharmacy’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The initiative, which is expected to commence shortly, is aimed at supporting the maintenance of public sports infrastructure and contributing to the continuous improvement of facilities used by athletes, sports enthusiasts and members of the public.
The partnership further reflects the growing role of private-sector organisations in complementing the efforts of the Kwara State Government in the development, maintenance and beautification of sports facilities across the state.
Speaking on the initiative, the Founder of ROTAMEDICS Pharmacy, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, said the project was driven by the company’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting initiatives with tangible social impact.
According to him, the decision to support the stadium is also a contribution to sports development, as a well-maintained sporting environment can provide a more conducive atmosphere for athletes and other users of the facility.
As part of preparations for the project, Dr. Malik visited the Kwara State Stadium Complex, where he was taken on an inspection tour of some of the facilities by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Alhaji Bolakale Mogaji, alongside officials of the Commission.
The inspection provided an opportunity for both parties to assess the condition of the facilities and identify areas where private-sector intervention could complement government efforts towards preserving and improving sports infrastructure.
The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Alhaji Bolakale Mogaji, commended ROTAMEDICS Pharmacy for the initiative, describing the partnership as a positive example of how government and the private sector can work together to sustain public infrastructure.
Mogaji noted that maintaining sports facilities is essential to creating a functional and attractive environment for athletes and sporting activities, while encouraging other corporate organisations to emulate ROTAMEDICS Pharmacy by supporting projects that promote sports development, youth engagement and community wellbeing.
He stressed that sustained collaboration between government and responsible corporate organisations would further strengthen efforts to preserve sports infrastructure and create better opportunities for young people across the state.
The ROTAMEDICS Pharmacy initiative is therefore expected to contribute to the continued upkeep of the Kwara State Stadium Complex while demonstrating the impact of practical and sustainable corporate citizenship.
Dr. Malik also expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Sports Commission for the inspection tour and reaffirmed ROTAMEDICS Pharmacy’s readiness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders on initiatives that promote sports development, youth engagement and community wellbeing.
The project further underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in supporting the maintenance of sports infrastructure and advancing the broader development of sports in Kwara State.
