ABS FC Appoints Former Kwara United Coach, Taofeeq Babatunde as Interim Head Coach

Today, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC has appointed former Kwara United Coach, Taofeeq Babatunde as the club’s interim head coach following the decision to sideline Coach Sani Ahmed Sarduana.

The decision, announced after a management meeting presided over by the club’s Director of Football, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, comes as part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at strengthening the team for the remainder of the season.

Coach Taofeeq Babatunde, who has been with the club in various coaching capacities, will now take charge of first-team affairs as ABS Ilorin FC embarks on a short mid-season break, scheduled to last until March 10, 2025. He will be supported by Coach Salaudeen Adeyinka, who has been drafted in as the new assistant coach.

The management also confirmed that only 23 players from the current squad will be retained as part of the team’s overhaul. Additionally, players who have absconded from the club without permission will not be allowed to return, as the club enforces stricter discipline measures.

With a wealth of coaching experience, Coach Taofeeq Babatunde is expected to bring fresh ideas and tactical discipline to ABS Ilorin FC as they push for a stronger second half of the season. Fans will be eager to see how he reshapes the team when they return to action after the break.

The club’s management has assured supporters that these decisions have been made in the best interest of the team’s long-term success and has called for continued support as ABS Ilorin FC transitions under new leadership.
