The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Kwara United FC following their remarkable comeback victory against Akwa United in the ongoing President Federation Cup.
The thrilling quarter-final encounter took place on Thursday, May 3, 2025, in Enugu. Kwara United clawed their way back from a two-goal deficit to level the match before sealing the win through a tense penalty shootout.
Mallam Mogaji lauded the fighting spirit and resilience displayed by the team, describing the victory as a significant achievement and a testament to their determination and teamwork.
“It was not easy coming back from a 2-0 scoreline. The players showed true character and fought hard to equalize and eventually win the game on penalties. It is another milestone for the team and the state,” he said.
The Executive Chairman further expressed confidence in the team’s potential to go all the way, urging them to maintain their momentum as they prepare for the semi-final and, hopefully, the final of the competition.
“We have all it takes to reach the final and win the President Federation Cup. I wish the team continued success as they push for glory,” he added.
Mallam Mogaji also extended his congratulations to the management, technical crew, supporters, and the entire sports community in Kwara State, acknowledging their collective contributions to the team’s progress.
Kwara United’s victory not only boosts their morale but also raises hopes among football lovers in the state as the club continues its quest for silverware.
