Kwara Gov’s Aide to Support 700 Older People, Widows; Announces Plans to Inaugurate “AALA”

Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Kwara State Governor, Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi, has announced plans to provide financial support to 700 older people and widows in Irepodun Local Government Area.

In a statement issued in Ilorin, Akeweje explained that the gesture is aimed at appreciating the consistent support given to the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq by the beneficiaries.

“The cash support is designed for 700 older people and widows across Irepodun Local Government. It is my way of appreciating their unwavering support for the administration of my father, principal, and benefactor, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,” he said.

According to him, the initiative draws inspiration from the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP)—a flagship poverty alleviation and empowerment scheme of Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration that has impacted thousands of households across the state.

On the timeline for the exercise, Akeweje disclosed that the names of beneficiaries are currently being compiled, with cash distribution expected to begin shortly and to be concluded before December 2025.

“The collation of names is ongoing, and once completed, disbursement will commence. By God’s grace, all 700 beneficiaries will receive their support between August and December,” he assured.

He further revealed that alongside the empowerment initiative, a socio-political movement known as the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Legacy Advocates (AALA) will be formally inaugurated. The group, according to him, is designed to consolidate and project the achievements of the governor while fostering grassroots support.

With this intervention, Akeweje joins the growing list of young aides of the governor who are extending social impact initiatives to complement the administration’s broader agenda of inclusion, empowerment, and community development.
